Maui - Day One
Kahalui, Maui, Hawaii - Day One

We had planned to rent a car today.  I had reserved two vehicles with
Alamo and was going to let Scott choose from a Convertible or a Jeep!  He
thought I had rented a Chevy Cavalier :-).  We got to Alamo and they
didn't have either the Jeep or the Convertible that I had reserved.  They
sent us over to Dollar where we rented a Convertible for one day for the
same cost that I had reserved over at Alamo for two days.  Boy, I was
NOT happy but we had to take what we could!  Alamo will be hearing
from me!

Since Kim, Jim, Dan & Cindy all had planned on renting a car we had
decided that we would just kinda go hand around the island together!  We
also knew from our conversations that we had all booked the same Luau!
We decided that we would just take our clothes for the Luau and some
stuff to freshen up with later so to not have to drive all the way back to
the port and then back to Lahaina.  It would have taken us at minimum
an hour to do the round trip. Jodi & her parents booked the same Luau
too and would just see us there!

Once we picked up the cars, we took off to explore the Island.  We headed
first for Wailea.  WOW, what a pretty place!  I'd love to go back there to
visit, it was very very nice!  We shopped around in the Shopping Mall and
then headed towards Lahaina.  While we were headed over to Lahaina we
stopped off at a beach on the side of the road and took some pics!
We headed into Lahaina and
wandered around.  What a cool little
town!  It was really neat!  We ate
lunch at a restaurant called Moose
McGillycuddy's.  They had a special
called the Foster's Fantasy.  It was a
1 lb burger that was loaded with
mushrooms, onions, etc, fries and a
24 oz Foster's Oil Can.  If you could
finish it in 30 minutes you got a free
t-shirt.  Dan & Jim finished it in 15
minutes!!

After lunch we did some shopping in
Lahaina.  We headed to the Cannery
Mall to use their restroom facilities
to freshen up and change.  Once we
changed we headed to the Luau.
Scott and I had booked Traditional
Seating and we ended up with
AWESOME seats!!!  Here are some
pics from the evening.
