Carnival Spirit
Hawaiian Cruise
Day 1
Our crew dwindled down to just Amy & Scott.  On this cruise we made some
awesome new friends that I'm sure we'll have for a long time to come!  We're
already trying to plan another cruise!
Today was the day in between cruises.  It was Debarkation day for the
Alaskan Cruise and Embarkation for the Hawaiian Cruise.  What a cool
feeling that was, to not have to pack anything the night before and to get back
on the cruise and have everything already unpacked and ready to go!

We got up around 7 am and got ready to go eat breakfast with most of the
group leaving today.  After breakfast we went back to the cabin to get ready
for the day.  We went to hang out in the lounge with everyone else before it
was time to leave.  About 9:45 they were called to get off the ship.  We went
out with them, helped them collect all their luggage and get it on carts and
then it was off to call for the Limo's.  LimoJet sent 3 limos and we caught a
ride with them in one of their limos to the Hotel they were going to be staying
at for the next 3 nights.  I had scored the Sheraton Wall Centre for $85 a night
on Priceline!  It was a great hotel!  We got there and as we were driving Scott
got word from his brother that he had landed and was heading out to go
through customs and collect his bags and he would catch a cab to the Hotel.
Once in the cab he called Scott and they agreed that he would call again once
he was in the lobby of the hotel.  We all headed up to Nancy & Connie's room
to kinda stall for time until he got there.  Scott and I were hiding down the hall
so that they had to all wait for us when we heard all this commotion.  Seems
Jamie had come up with Amanda & Brian and the surprise was over :-(.  We
were bummed to have missed it but saw the after reaction.  Faye was beyond
thrilled!!!  It was a very cool thing!  We then headed outside to catch the
Trolley for a tour around the city.  It was cool to get to see part of the city but
the driver wasn't very good, she just sorta rambled and we didn't get alot of
history.  We've always had such good luck with Trolley Tours in all the cities
we've done it so this was a disappointment.  Oh well, we made the best of it.
Here are some pics from the Trolley Tour:
Remember that InukShuk that
Amanda & Adele built in Skagway?!
Here's a large one!
We all got off the Trolley in Gas Town
and did a little shopping.  We then
stopped in a local Brew Pub called
SteamWorks Brew Pub.  Quite a few
of us got one of their yummy burgers!
It was very delicious and very weird to
have to pay to eat :-).  After lunch
Scott and I walked back to the ship
and everyone else continued on their
way touring Vancouver!

We got back to the ship, went through
Security, went through Customs and
then straight onto the ship.  We didn't
even have to do the boarding photo :-).
Once back in the cabin, we found a
couple gifts!  A photo coupon from our
trusty travel agent and a bottle of
champagne, chocolate covered
strawberries and candies from the
Purser's desk as a thank you for doing
the Back to Back!
We went and did the second Muster Drill of our trip and then dropped the
stuff at the room.  I was sort of dilly dally-ing around when I all of a sudden
remembered the sailaway party we had arranged for the Fantail Bar!  Yikes,
I took off for that dragging Scott kicking and screaming!  He never likes to
go to these things but boy was he glad he did!  Probably about 20 people or
more showed up so that was great!  Slowly everyone started going off on
their own ways, except 5 of us!  It was Scott, myself, Kim, Jim (from the San
Fransisco Bay Area) & Jodi (from Orlando)!  Man did we have fun!  We
went up on deck 10 and took pics of our second sailaway!
After a bit we went in search of
warmth and changed places several
times trying to do so.  We sat just
chatting away and drinking until
someone looked at their watch and
realized it was after 7 and we all had
late seating and needed to get ready!
After dinner I went to the show and
Scott went to the Casino.  I won a
50% coupon off of a facial during
the show.  Unfortunately I never
made time to go get my facial or my
massage :-(.  There was just way too
much fun to be had!  I called it an
early night as I was just beat and
looking very forward to the next 5
days of rest and relaxation!
